Dear future husband… You know the song by Savage Garden? I Knew I Loved You. Where did Savage Garden disappear to? Why did they call themselves Savage Garden? I digress. I remember being baffled by the lyrics of the song the first time I heard it.
I am sharing this little piece today in preparation of what’s coming later today. A couple of poems I wrote are going to be appearing in an anthology book together with many other talented poets from Africa at large, available to download at 7:00pm (6:00pm CAT).
I stood by the window Watching two petals fly They danced to the beat of the wind Twisting and twirling Carefree and beautiful A dance as old as time
Your mug is a thing of beauty. Repurposed to showcase pretty It’s not as it was And from this we learn These flaws Make you even more…..exquisite Flawesome
Sharon Mbabazi is the definition of beauty and brains. She’s a woman after God’s own heart. Her smile is amazing. And she’s my twin sister. Seriously! We were born in the same day, though in different years….so twins! And she wrote this wonderful piece. Enjoy…
My dearest Beaton; I want to immortalize you in the only way I know how, so I have decided to write you a letter.
This is Elijah Bwojji….. He is a poet….. And an amazing friend. He truly has a way with words… His poetry just keeps getting better and better….you can find more of his beautiful words at his blog; Death of Words.
This is Tomukudza. He is a lawyer from Zimbabwe…… Tomukudza is also a poet. For some reason everytime I read this poem, I’m reminded of Shakespeare’s Sonnets. He talks about what love is in this poem.
I don’t know why this prompt didn’t fall on the purported day of love but henewe, let me tell you all about luuuuuuuurve. And its not this poem I wrote a while back.
