Growing Pains

An Alien To The Status Quo

Shame on me

It’s happening again

image

I built myself up
Brick by painstaking brick
I was proud of who I had become
A woman I could recognize in the mirror
I was stronger.
I was beautiful
I was happy.
I had survived you
But like the weasel you are.
You wormed your way back
Whispering words of a future
You beguiled me
You overwhelmed my senses
Sprouted weeds in my garden of wellness
Made me believe something that wasn’t
And then like you have done over and over again
You cut me down
My tall tree withered in rain
Fool me twice shame on me.
But shame on you too.
For the vile creature you are
You don’t deserve the breath that flows through you.
I have a lot of work to do
On my foundation
On my roots.
And you….
I struggle to say these words….
But I forgive you.

  1. You sent a dinner invitation to a gentleman. Instead a pig came in his place. He drove his snout into the silver bowl and ate without restraint, knocking over your best china and relieving himself all over your rug.

Swine doesn’t know the worth of a gracious hostess

    My pen is capped
