When I saw today’s prompt, my first thought was, huh!?
How in the world am I supposed to pick just a measly five songs out the millions I’ve heard and loved.
I love music! This might be a little cliché but music is the heart beat I feel in my soul. (Okay, I admit that is a lot cliché)
So, put simply, I can’t pick a favorite song, let alone five. But, *SIGH* I can’t pass on this day….so, I’ll just share a few songs that have a significant memory attached to them.
1. Thank God I found You, Mariah Carey and 98 degrees.
The first time I heard this song, I think around 2001, I was eleven and I had my first crush….you know how the tale goes, girl sees boy, girl crushes on boy, girl listens to song and associates song with boy, the end.
2. One Sweet Day, Mariah Carey and Boys II Men
Well this is a no brainer, after the death of my Mother in 2004, I played this song over and over again and it brought me much much comfort.
3. Peace be Still- Pompi
Ho, as for this one! This was the song whose chorus I sang on the day Isaiah Katumwa said I had a nice voice. That is still surreal for me, by the way.
4. Love on Top- Beyonce
This reminds me of the time Dad and I tried to out sing the Beyonce. Obviously we failed, but it was so fun. And to this day we just love this song.
5. I’m going to catch a lot of flack for this one but bear in mind it has a really awesome reason why its there.
Baby by Justin Beiber…….Back when the guy was starting out, my baby sister was one of the ‘unfortunate?’ who had Beiber Fever and so this song was just a way for us to tease her mercilessly. So I grew to like the song.
Yep, that’s all I can think of now, week one is down! Like woooooow! So Onwards and Forwards…. Have a good night beautiful people.
Mables
I rather like all songs Mariah Carey 🙂
I agree its super hard to pick just 5 songs out of your all time faves,
